Attributes of a Hotelier

Attributes of a Hotelier

Dear Friends and Colleagues, dear People Professionals, I hope you enjoyed my last week’s post and had the opportunity to think about your own “vision and mission.” Thank you for the many comments I received!

Today, I would like to communicate with you about key elements that define a hotelier. There are particular traits and attributes that will lead you to success! I describe them in my book MASTERING HOSPITALITY in greater detail but here are a few of the most important ones: to serve others, to lead by example, remain curious, never stop learning, be authentic, demonstrate the highest standards for oneself and others, understand the business aspect of every action, make people feel special, show genuine care and support for everyone on the team.

If all these attributes don’t come naturally, they can be learned and cultivated, as they are expected from a People Professional. It is up to you to create your own improvement plan. Which attributes do you think are the most important? Where are you on your journey to success and how will you fill the gaps?
